Puppy Training

Price: $150  - Sign Up now!

Requirements: (20 weeks and younger plus 1st round of DHLPP shots)

Includes:

• 6 week course

• Skills including sit, stand, down, stay, anti-jump, recall, tug, drop, ring the bell to go outside and Say Hi

• Socialization, handling, bite inhibition and behavior problem prevention exercises

• Homework packet and training manual

This class offers lots of off leash play which is crucial for puppies at this age.  We will teach you what safe dog play looks like, how to train basic obedience skills and how turn your puppy into the confident well mannered dog you want with tons of behavior information.  This class is offered every Sunday from 3-4 p.m. Because puppies need to be socialized  before 5 months we have rolling admissions so you can start this 6 week course right away!  We've designed each session so that if it's your first class it will be easy for you to walk in and learn a lot with your puppy!

Advanced Puppy Training

Price: $150  - Sign Up now!

Requirements: Has completed Puppy Training at Green Paws or an approved facility.

Includes:

• 5 week course

• Skills including advanced work on sit, stand, down, stay, recall and drop, leave it, go to your mat, leash manners and heel

• Behavior problem prevention (separation anxiety, guarding, predatory drift and barrier frustration)

This class is a continuation of Puppy Training where we focus on tightening up all the skills learned in the previous class as well as adding leash waking skills and go to your mat.  This class is also much more behavior focused and allows parents to ask questions about issues they're dealing with at home during our Q&A period at the end of each class.   This class is offered every Sunday from 2-3 p.m. Because we don't want you waiting for a class to sign up for we have rolling admissions so you can start this 5 week course right away!  We've designed each session so that if it's your first class it will be easy for you to walk in and learn a lot with your puppy!

Basic Manners Public Class

Price: $150 (10% discount for rescue dogs)  - Register Now!

Requirements: This is for all dogs and puppies over 18 weeks!

Includes:

• 6 week course

• Skills including sit, stand, down, stay, anti-jump, recall, wait, drop, tug, leave it, leash skills and a Go To Your Mat cue

This class is great for helping you get some basic obedience skills on your dog no matter what his age!  Yes, old dogs can learn new tricks and so can young ones.  This manners class will help you understand how to communicate with your dog and to install the behaviors listed above.  Our classes are easy and effective so whether you've been training for years or this is your first dog, this class will prepare you for the rest of your dog's training life.  Click here for our class schedule.

In - Home Manners Public Class

Price: $150  - Register Now!

Requirements: Has taken a Puppy Manners or a Basic Manners class at Green Paws or an approved facility.

Includes:

• 6 week course

• Control barking when the doorbell rings

• Anti-jump training

• High distraction sit stay (guests and appetizers present)

• Go-To-Mat cue

While we often enjoy our everyday lives with our dogs, we become acutely aware of their behavior problems when we have guests over.  Suddenly our dogs start jumping on people, barking and knocking over drinks.  And now Green Paws has designed a class for just this reason - to help you get the well mannered pooch you want, especially when people are visiting.  This class teach you all about high distraction training and get your dog to be lovely when friends and family visit.  Our in class exercises set up difficult situations for dogs to get through and we teach them that being polite is very rewarding!  Click here for our class schedule.

City Dog Manners Public Class

Requirements: Has taken a Puppy Manners or a Basic Manners class at Green Paws or an approved facility.

Includes:

• 6 week course

• Sit before crossing the street

• Lays down quietly at restaurants

• Walks politely on leash

• Greets strangers and dogs politely on the street

Living in the city can be an overwhelming experience for a dog and especially their owner!  Not only do want to keep our pets safe but also to respect the other pedestrians and business we encounter.  Now, Green Paws has designed a class just for tackling this very task.  Our City Dog Manners class will help you and your dog learn how to deal with the hustle and bustle of the city so you can enjoy your public outings together without fear or embarrassment.  Click here for our class schedule.

Tricks Public Class

Price: $30 

Requirements: Has taken any class at Green Paws or an approved facility.

Includes:

• One hour class

• Two or three tricks (see schedule for details)

Tricks are not only a fun exercise for humans (and their friends) but they are also a confidence building exercise for dogs.  Teaching our dogs new skills is a bonding experience that allows us to have more control over our sweet pets.  We have different tricks every week and design the class so you can just stop by for one or ten classes and learn all the tricks you'd like.  Click here for our class schedule.

Puppy and Small Dog Playgroups!

Price: $10 - Drop In - Click here for the schedule and requirements.

Come bring your puppy or small dog to romp around in this fun and safe environment. It's extremely important for puppies to get socialized before they are 18 weeks and also to give small dogs a safe place to get out their energy.  We will tell you all the rules of good dog play and help you understand good and bad dog behavior so you can keep your dogs safe in public at places like the dog park or at your neighbor's house.  These are drop-in so come on by and learn about good dog play styles.  We have a special area for shy dogs at these playgroups where each week we help build their confidence and love of dogs so they can romp around in the big area!
